Activities

The church hosts a number of activities including the weekly mid-day Reflective  Bible Study meeting,  the fortnightly Tuesday Lunch Club,  the weekly Cornerstone Social Cafe on Thursday mornings, the weekly Saturday Coffee Morning, the Themed Dinner Evening in  September, and the July Charity Lunch.  Details about dates and times for the current year’s activities may be found at the appropriate sub-section under ‘Activities’.

There are also special services including the Service of Blessing of Pets in June, Songs of Praise in July, the Harvest Service in October,  Activity Nativity on the first Sunday in Advent, and the Carols by Candlelight’ family service on New Year’s Eve.  For details see under ‘Events’.

From January, 2015 the Boys’ Brigade and the Girls’ Brigade set up companies initially for primary school children, but from 2018 includes a Company for secondary school students.  Taster Evenings’ were held in January, February and March, 2015 and a formal launch of the new companies was made in April.  There was also a holiday club for primary school children held during term break in April.    For current details about the companies see sub-sections ‘Boys’ Brigade’ and ‘Girls’ Brigade’.

The church is ‘disability friendly’ with a ramp leading up to the front door,  a ramp into the church hall from the car park, a ramp into the side door leading to the small meeting room and the sanctuary, a stair lift, and a disabled toilet.  There is a loop system in both the sanctuary and the church hall.

The kitchen facilities have been given a 5-star rating for hygiene.  The members of the church who work in the kitchen all have a current Level-2 certificate (QCF) for food safety in catering.

Stocksbridge Christian Centre is a Fair Trade Church.
